The cross country course (Beginner
loop only) will be open for pre-riding
on Friday, July 25th. You must register BEFORE riding.
If you do not have a USA Cycling license, you will have to pay
a $5 one-day fee and everyone will pay a $5 land access permit
fee. The hill climb course will not be open due to a two-way traffic
situation. No one will be allowed to start on the practise course
after 3:30 pm. Everyone must be off the course by 5:00 pm.
On
race days, the area will be closed and
there will be
no spectator
riding allowed.
Cross Country
Course is on grassy and gravel two-track and single-track
starting at the base area of Taos Ski Valley in front of the
Snakedance
Condos.
The finish line is same as the starting line. The course climbs
up to 11,500 feet on private property. Beginners, Junior
Beginners and Junior 14 & under
will
race
one
lap
of just
under 9 miles.
Sport classes will race 2 laps at 13 miles, and the Experts
and Pros will race three laps at approx. 17.5 miles. No loops
will be the same. Not that you'll be noticing, but the scenery
is excellent and the views like the ride, are breathtaking.
Hill Climb
Course will climb 2,800 ft. in 5.5 miles from the start at the
base area of Taos Ski Valley to the finish at the top of 12,163
ft.
Frazer Mountain. The average grade is
less than 10%
with
the
steepest
grade at nearly
23%. Course is mostly on grassy and gravel two-track jeep roads
on private property. Return course is on single-track and two-track.
This is a timed event. First rider to the top
of Frazer
Mountain
is
the
overall
winner. First rider to the top in each class is the class winner.

Kids Races
The kids races will stay in the base area. Kids 6 and under will race one loop
accompanied by an adult. 7 to 10 year olds will race two loops.
